Ready to make the most of your ecommerce fulfillment experience? Let’s talk.
What Are Ecommerce Fulfillment Services?
Ecommerce fulfillment services are the operational support that helps online orders move from the warehouse to the customer’s door. They help brands receive inventory, store products correctly, prepare each order, ship on time, and handle returns with more accuracy and control.
Every inventory movement is recorded as products pass through receiving, storage, fulfillment, and dispatch. This visibility helps your team maintain control as order volume and channel complexity increase.
An ecommerce fulfillment company provides sellers with the warehouse infrastructure, staff, technology, and shipping processes needed to fulfill orders consistently.
The goal is not only to get products out the door, but to reduce errors, protect customer experience, and make fulfillment easier to manage as sales channels and order volume increase.
The Best Ecommerce Fulfillment Services Come from a 3PL Built to Last
ACT Fulfillment has been operating since 1994, helping e-commerce brands manage fulfillment through changing sales channels, rising customer expectations, and shifting supply chain pressures.
At ACT, ownership is more than a business model. As an employee-owned company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), the people handling your orders have a direct stake in the quality, accuracy, and consistency of their work. That ownership mindset is what brands see in practice when they choose a fulfillment partner they can build around.
ACT brings the operating experience and discipline to give ecommerce fulfillment more control and staying power, and keep orders moving through change, growth, and complexity.

Ecommerce Fulfillment Services FAQs
Ecommerce fulfillment moves an order from inventory to the customer’s door in four stages: receiving, storage, order processing, and shipping. Inbound product is received and confirmed against what was ordered, then stored and tracked across the warehouse. When an order comes in, it enters the pick queue and moves through a paperless, RF-driven picking process, gets packed to each channel’s specification, and ships out, with same-day shipping available for channels that require it. Returns are processed at the end of the cycle. At ACT, operations run 24×7 so orders keep moving regardless of volume.
A capable provider supports your full channel mix from one inventory pool rather than treating each channel separately. That includes direct-to-consumer (DTC), Amazon FBA, Amazon FBM and Seller Fulfilled Prime, and retail distribution. On the technology side, ACT integrates with major ecommerce platforms including Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, BigCommerce, and Magento, so every cart, marketplace, or retail order enters the same pick queue the moment it is placed. Running one connected system across channels keeps a busy marketplace from slowing down DTC orders, or the reverse.
The difference comes down to who ships the order. With Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), your provider preps inventory to Amazon’s exact inbound requirements and sends it into Amazon’s network, and Amazon fulfills the orders. With Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) and Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP), the Amazon orders are fulfilled from your provider’s own facilities instead, shipped within Amazon’s required service levels (SLAs). ACT supports all three models, so you can run whichever fits a given product without moving to another partner.
Yes. Returns management is treated as a core part of the service, not an afterthought. ACT processes RMAs (return merchandise authorizations) either plug-and-play or fully customized to how your operation already runs, supporting both your internal team and your customers. Because returns are handled in the same facilities as your outbound orders, the process stays connected to the rest of your fulfillment rather than sitting with a separate vendor. Handling this work in-house also keeps costs lower than routing returns back through the factory.
Yes. Real-time visibility is standard. Through the ACT Customer Portal you can see current stock levels, order status, and inbound receipts as they happen, with custom SAP BI reporting available when you need a deeper cut of the data. Inventory is tracked from the moment it arrives to the moment it ships, and accurate counts are maintained at every stage across ACT’s facilities. That live view means you are not waiting on emails to know where an order or a shipment stands.
